Hello,
I hope you all remember the little old Dachshund we adopted from your shelter at the end of November, 2010. His shelter name (as he was a stray) was Mr. Wilson. We renamed him Mr. Wilson Magoo. I would like to give you an update and send along a few photos of the little tyke.

We found his REAL name! That is his biggest news. We had occasionally tried different names as we thought of them. But he responded to none of them. Mr. Wilson Magoo seemed to be it for him. Then one evening near New Years a name popped into my head so I called "Oscar." Well he just popped out from under the blanket on the sofa and yipped! So Lee said "Oscar, Oscar, Oscar!" And that little dog was just beside himself with pure JOY! You could just see the relief and the feeling of "THAT'S ME!!!" in his entire being. I am not the misty eyed type. But I teared up over seeing his happiness. Having his name helped with his confidence and settling into his new home. So...Mr. Oscar Magoo, it has been and will be.
The neutering has helped him gain a bit of weight. He is looking very fit and feeling stronger and more energetic. He and our other Dachshund, Willow Rose, are getting along well. They do not show each other a lot of affection or anything. But they are becoming protective of each other. (The cat made Oscar cry so Willow knocked his kitty butt off the bed. Checked to be sure Oscar was unharmed. Then stood guard over him! You can bet that cat has never done that again!) The warming weather has melted some of the snow in the back yard. So now the two can RUN together! This is a dream come true for Willow. She has been so lonely in the yard since our elderly big dogs passed away and left her an only dog a couple of years ago.
Thank you again for helping Mr. Oscar Magoo find his way to us. He is the best dog a person could ask for. -Annette W.
I hope you enjoy seeing this little face again.
