girl puppyAdopting a pet is a serious commitment.  Our knowledgeable staff and volunteers will assist you in finding a pet who is a good match for you and your family. Thousands of homeless animals are sheltered at TCHS each year.  Many of our animals come from loving homes, some do not. All are looking for and deserve safe homes and caring companions.
In an effort to reduce the number of unwanted pets, all animals are spayed/neutered.  A basic temperment evaluation is done along with a basic physical exam.  The health or temperment of adopted animals cannot be guaranteed, although we will not knowingly adopt out sick or aggressive animals.

Deposits & Travel Holds

If you find an animal on our website you can call and place a "travel hold" on that animal to allow you time to get here to visit with it.  You may also place a "deposit" on an animal.  (This can be done over the phone with a credit card or in person.)  The fee is $20 and will hold the animal for 2-days for you.  The $20 is non-refundable and will go as a donaion if you choose not to adopt the animal.  It will go toward the adoption if you choose to adopt the animal.  If the animal already has a deposit, you can place a "2nd deposit" on the animal ensuring that if the first deposit falls through the animal will then be held for you.  As previously stated, deposits are not refundable.

Volunteers Needed to Gift Wrap!

Get into the true holiday spirit by giving your time to help pets in need!  The Tri-County Humane Society's gift wrapping booth is back for another year at Crossroads Center near Target, and we need all the help we can get!  We will be wrapping gifts during mall hours every day from Black Friday through Christmas Eve.  Round up a group of friends, sign up the entire family, or fill in some of the shifts that need just one more set of hands and make some new friends!  This is one of the few volunteer opportunities that you don't need to currently volunteer at the shelter to be able to help out.  However, anyone under 18 MUST be accompanied by an adult to volunteer.

Signing up is easy!  Just click below.
