Purina Pets for Seniors
PETS HELP SENIORS LIVE THEIR BEST LIVES

Research suggests that the unconditional love and companionship provided by a pet can help seniors lead a healthy life. In fact, independently living seniors who own pets tend to have better physical health and mental well-being than those who do not own a pet . In addition, seniors who own dogs do not have a need to go to the doctor as often as non pet owners.
The Tri-County Humane Society is part of the PurinaŽ Pets for Seniors Program, which promotes the joy and health benefits of pet ownership among senior citizens across the country. This provides local senior citizens the opportunity to meet adoptable pets and ultimately find a companion to adopt at $50 less than the adoption fee.
